Last week Raphael, our Head of School, attended the Annual Conference of Heads of School of the German International Schools in the USA and Canada. Bringing educators and leaders together strengthens the ties between our schools and deepens our connection to the German culture and language. 🇩🇪
During the two-day conference, they discussed the importance of strong school governance, various approaches to managing classrooms in the digital age and strategies to support dual language learning.

Our hearts are full after seeing so many families come together for our Read Around the World event. We heard stories from in 7 languages, learned about different cultures and even made some paper lanterns in Mandarin!
We’re so grateful to our 9 amazing authors and our Assemblywoman @pharaforassembly for carving time out of their busy schedules to join us!
And a special thank you to our local independent bookstores for sharing their selection of bilingual books with our community!

For the past decade, our GSB school community has gathered each fall for our beloved Oktoberfest celebration, a joyful fundraiser filled with music, food, and camaraderie.
This year, with our exciting rebrand to Global School Brooklyn and the addition of our new Spanish language track, we’re reimagining the tradition as Tacoberfest—a vibrant celebration that honors our roots while embracing the diversity of our student body.
Guests can expect the same lively spirit they’ve come to love, now enriched with flavors, music, and traditions from both German- and Spanish-speaking cultures.
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon that reflects the global heart of our school and help support our programs by purchasing your tickets at the link in our bio!

We can't believe it's already the first day of school!
The GSB team spent the last week setting up classrooms, putting the final touches on the curriculum, and collaborating on ideas for our German and Spanish programs. We are also grateful to Dr. Tito Soto-Carrion for taking the time to speak with us about race, racism, and how it can impact our school community.
