Our Multi-Media Theater afterschool program with Leonie also highlights how our students integrate their language skills into creative projects.
Check out the bilingual nature of this short film by upper elementary students Lumi, Indigo, Anja, Esme, Adrian, Finn, and Leo. You’ll hear German and English (and some laughter, which is also important!).
Through a well-rounded bilingual education our students develop enhanced problem solving skills, improved memory and greater mental flexibility which are key tools to help them think creatively and critically. 🎬

We recently had the pleasure of catching up with Jasmine, who is a recent high school graduate and a proud GSB alum!
⭐ How are you keeping up with your German?
I used to take IB German at my high school, which is the main way I kept up with my German. Other than that I listen to German audiobooks, read in German, or speak German with my family.
⭐ What are your plans for college?
For college, I am moving to London to study musical theatre at Urdang City St. George’s, University of London.
⭐ What do you like to do outside of school?
I am interested in writing, reading and travel!
⭐ What do you miss about GSB?
The thing I miss the most about GSB is the connection I had with my teachers and my fellow students. GSB taught me so much about myself as a person and my place within a community.

This is just a short clip of the creative work our students have developed in Multi-Media Theater with Leonie as part of our afterschool program.
They fully immersed themselves in the filmmaking process to brainstorm stories, draft scripts and act out each scene. Their hard work culminated in a Theater Showcase, where they proudly shared their masterpieces with classmates and parents.

We can’t believe that another school year has come and gone. The last few days were a celebration of learning, including lots of laughter and even some tearful goodbyes:
🎓 The 5th graders and 8th graders commemorated entering new phases in their academic careers - Middle School and High School
🎬 Our Middle Schoolers received a private screening of @heightenedscrutiny which features one of our students & a Q&A with its director @paolamendoza
📘 Sophia & Leni in Grade 7 are now published authors and featured in a collection of German stories from authors around the world in Das blaue Blatt
🌟 All students, even our preschoolers, received their end of year reports
We hope everybody has a joyful summer and we’re excited to see you in the fall!

GSB started the final stretch of the school year with Sports Day! ♟️🏀⚽️🏓
Students were able to take part in the fun run and various tournaments as participants or spectators. They dribbled, they cheered and they celebrated with trophies and an exclusive GSB hat! 🏆
It’s been an exciting day for all of the students and staff. We came together for our first assembly as Global School Brooklyn to celebrate entering a new era with each student receiving a special t-shirt to mark the occasion! 💛
