Andrea Myers Director of Business Administration
I was born in New York City and lived in Brooklyn until I was five years old, so joining Global School Brooklyn feels like a meaningful return. After many decades away, I am excited to move back to Brooklyn to be close to family and friends, along with my college-bound daughter and our dog.
I have spent my career in independent schools, working in admissions, enrollment management, financial aid, operations, and school leadership. My work has taken me from the classroom to school administration, and I have always been drawn to schools where relationships, mission, and thoughtful systems come together in service of children and families. Before joining GSB, I served as Head of School at Friends School Haverford, a Quaker school outside Philadelphia, where I led school operations, enrollment strategy, financial planning, communications, licensing and compliance work, and program development. I also previously held admissions and enrollment leadership roles at The Miquon School and Fayerweather Street School, and began my career in education through progressive school communities including Shady Hill School’s Teacher Training Program.
Across these experiences, I have come to believe that strong school administration is not separate from the life of the school; it is one of the ways we care for children, families, faculty, and the broader community. I enjoy building clear, supportive systems that help a school run smoothly, communicate well, and remain focused on its mission. I am especially excited to bring my experience in enrollment, operations, finance, family partnership, and strategic planning to GSB as the school continues to grow.
I am delighted to join a vibrant international school community and look forward to working collaboratively with students, families, faculty, staff, and school leadership. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to GSB’s next chapter and to become part of the Brooklyn community once again.
Outside of school, I am looking forward to settling into Brooklyn life with my partner, our children, and our dog, and to spending time with family and friends, listening to music, visiting art museums, poking around bookstores, and exploring the city.
