Dariana Solorzano
Spanish Preschool Teacher

I’m a passionate educator with a degree in Early Childhood Education from City College and an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from BMCC. I am also pursuing my Master’s degree in Special Education, continuing my journey of growth as an educator. Teaching has always been close to my heart, inspired by the nurturing, loving, and supportive educators I had growing up. They showed me the profound impact a teacher can have on a child’s life, something I strive to bring into my own classroom every day.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, but at the age of 10, I moved to Guatemala for five years where I also attended middle school and part of High School. This experience gave me a deeper connection to my culture and language and a new perspective on life that I carry with me. Returning to New York in 2015, I completed the rest of high school, obtained both of my degrees, and later embarked on my teaching journey.

In my past professional experiences, I have had the privilege of teaching in another private school where I was reminded daily why I chose this path. Being able to see the growth, smiles and laughs of the children every day was a great motivator and inspiration to continue to become a better educator for them and for myself. I believe in creating a classroom filled with love, comfort, and encouragement; a space where every child feels nurtured and supported.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy attending hot pilates and yoga classes, reading, going on walks, shopping, car adventures, spending time with my boyfriend and family and binge-watching my favorite shows.

I’m thrilled to be a part of the GSB family as the first Spanish immersion preschool teacher, and am glad to share this exciting chapter of the school’s growth with students, staff, and families.
