Leon Rudolph
Sports and History Teacher
I was born and grew up in Essen, a large city in Northrhine-Westphalia, known for its working-class mentality, openness to foreign cultures, sense of belonging and authenticity.
After finishing high school (Abitur), I moved to Münster to study to become a teacher of sport and history and also worked as a fitness trainer. After successfully completing my studies, I moved on to Düsseldorf, where I completed my Referendariat and got to know lots of wonderful people.
I then traveled around the world through Southeast Asia, South and Central America and to New York. I was able to gather many great impressions and pursue my passion for traveling and getting to know new cultures, and I firmly believe that openness and intercultural cooperation are an important part of children’s development.
I have high expectations for my teaching, and I pursue training to stay current with the ever-changing demands of the digital age. For me, school is a place of coming together, tolerance and openness – challenging lessons are very important to me. It is also important to prepare children for society, to educate them to become self-sufficient and self-confident people and at the same time to foster their curiosity and zest for life. The world has an incredible amount to offer!
I am happy to be here in New York, and I’m thrilled to be teaching at GSB!
