Lucas Montuori-Sorrentino
Grades 3 and 4 Class Teacher, German Subjects
I was born in Marburg, Hesse, Germany, and spent my elementary school years in Alsace and Lorraine, France. After graduating from high school in Marbach, the hometown of the great author and poet Friedrich Schiller, I studied Applied Computer Science in Konstanz and Rescue and Fire Protection Engineering in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia. I then completed my elementary teaching degree at Wuppertal University, focusing on German, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
I completed my teaching internship at the Astrid Lindgren School in Erdmannhausen, near my hometown. Since then, I have worked as a head teacher at Pattonville Elementary School, near Stuttgart, Germany, teaching mixed-age classes in all subjects, while also being actively involved with the volunteer fire department.
Thanks to my own bilingualism, my wife from New York, and raising our son bilingually, I have experienced the great benefits of multilingualism firsthand. I am passionate about helping children discover and develop their own potentials in an open, self-reflective, and interest-driven environment.
I greatly appreciate the opportunity to support and guide the students of the German School Brooklyn on their educational journey and am happy to be a part of the GSB community!
