Rozie Cejovic
School Counselor
My journey into mental health and child advocacy began in 2018 as a crisis counselor with the 988 Lifeline in New York. Supporting people through some of their most difficult moments showed me how important it is for children and teens to have access to compassionate, trauma-informed mental health care—especially in schools, where emotional well-being can sometimes take a back seat to academic achievement.
That experience inspired me to earn my Master's in Counseling from Hunter College, graduating in 2023 with training in Family Systems and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe every child benefits from having a safe, supportive space to navigate life's challenges. My goal is to help students feel accepted, understood, and comfortable being their authentic selves while building the resilience they need to thrive.
Growing up in a bilingual household and spending summers in Southern Europe sparked a lifelong love of travel and cultural connection. GSB aligns strongly with my views as an educator that exposure to different languages and cultures helps children build empathy and lifelong intellectual curiosity. Outside of GSB, you'll usually find me at a comedy show, reading a drugstore whodunnit, or in the ocean with my best friend surfing the unforgiving waves of Long Island or the Jersey Shore.
