Originally from a small town on the Baltic Sea in the north of Germany, I studied Latin and German in Barcelona and Berlin, where I completed my first and second state exams in both subjects. 

I started my teaching career in Berlin at a humanistic middle and high school where I taught grades 5 through 12 for 7 years, building the language curriculum, and leading the school exchange program in Rome.

Then love brought me to New York in 2016, and I worked at the German International School New York in White Plains, co-directed the German department there, directed the Latin program, and developed a robust Green School initiative.

In 2020, I became a member of the GSB community, taught all middle school grades since then and was involved in developing and expanding the German language program. I am an enthusiastic teacher and love getting to know my students and connecting with them deeply, helping them to expand their academic horizons as they get to know more about the world and about themselves. As I am raising my own 2 children bilingually, I know about the amazing gifts and benefits of learning two languages at the same time, and I thrive in sharing my passion for language learning with my students. I am very excited to be part of this wonderful, international, and diverse community.
